Who is Eligible

Associate or provisionally licensed mental health professionals, Graduate students and others, including:

  1. Registered Nurses (non-Psychiatric Nurses)
  2. Occupational Therapist
  3. Physical Therapist
  4. Speech Language Pathologist
  5. Educator

Application Process

Application Process

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Remit your initial application fee payment of 99.99 USD online
  3. Upload the following documents to your account:
    1. Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a CEU or completion certificate
    2. Documentation of professional status in the form of at least 1 of the following:
      1. Licensed professional - copy of your professional license or designation
      2. Graduate student – copy of your unofficial transcript
      3. Other professionals – copy of your CV and diploma or unofficial transcript
Renewal

Renewal

To maintain Certification, a renewal is required. After your initial 1-year Certification, you have the option to renew for 1, 2 or 3 years. A 1-year renewal requires 6 clock hours of continuing education training related to trauma treatment since you were last Certified; a 2-year renewal requires 12 clock hours, and a 3-year renewal requires 18 hours.

  2. Culturally Competent Trauma Informed Practice (CULC) by ITTI
  3. New Rules for Treating Trauma: Integrating Neuroscience for Resilience, Connection and Post-Traumatic Growth by PESI
  4. Trauma-Related Dissociation and Dissociative Disorders: Assessment and Treatment Strategies for Some of the Most Misunderstood Disorders in the DSM by PESI
  5. Yoga for Trauma: Innovative Mind-Body Strategies that Help Clients Activate Healing Processes and Release the Negative Imprint of Trauma by PESI

Renewal Process

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Remit your recertification application fee online
  3. Upload the following documents to your account:
    1. Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a CEU or completion certificate
    2. Documentation of professional status in the form of at least 1 of the following:
      1. Licensed professional - copy of your professional license or designation
      2. Graduate student – copy of your unofficial transcript
      3. Other professionals – copy of your CV and diploma or unofficial transcript
