Who is Eligible:

To be eligible for CCTP certification, the applicant must have earned a minimum of a master’s degree in their profession and hold a state or national license, with all training hours and supervision requirements completed to be licensed for independent practice in the state they are licensed.

Training Requirements:

A minimum of 12 clock hours of continuing education training in specific trauma assessment and treatment topics.

Pre-approved, 3rd party trainings that meet the training requirements for CCTP certification include:

Evergreen Certifications will accept courses that have been completed within 2 years of initial application for certification.

Please note that Evergreen Certifications does not offer continuing education, all training must be purchased directly through the accredited training organization. Training is not included in the certification fee.

Application Process:

For your initial 1-year certification, please complete the following steps.

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Remit your initial application payment of 99.99 USD online
  3. Upload the following documents to your account:
    • A copy of the candidate’s professional license
    • Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a CE or completion certificate

Evergreen Certifications will certify applicants who meet the above requirements.

Please note: Certification does not imply endorsement of clinical competency. As a licensed professional, you are responsible for reviewing the scope of practice, including activities that are defined in law as beyond the boundaries of practice in accordance with and in compliance with your profession’s standards.

 

To maintain CCTP certification, a renewal is required. After your initial 1-year certification, you have the option to renew for 1, 2 or 3 years. A 1-year renewal requires 6 clock hours of trauma-focused continuing education since you were last certified; a 2-year renewal requires 12 clock hours, and a 3-year renewal requires 18 hours.

Renewal Process

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Upload the following documents to your account:
    • A copy of the candidate’s professional license
    • Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a CE or completion certificate
  3. Remit your CCTP renewal fee online
    • $49.99 for a 1-year renewal
    • $79.99 for a 2-year renewal
    • $99.99 for a 3-year renewal

Renewal training hours need to have been taken in the time since you were certified or last recertified.

Renewals are calculated from the date that your certification was issued. If you allow your certification to lapse for more than 3 years, you are no longer eligible to renew your certification and instead can reapply for certification

Frank G. Anderson - MD

Frank Guastella Anderson, MD, completed his residency and was a clinical instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is both a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. He specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation and is passionate about teaching brain-based psychotherapy and integrating current neuroscience knowledge with the IFS model of therapy.

Dr. Anderson is the Vice Chair, Director, trainer for the Center for Self Leadership with Richard Schwartz, PhD, and maintains a long affiliation with, and trains for, Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center.

Dr. Anderson has lectured extensively on the Neurobiology of PTSD and Dissociation and wrote the chapter “Who’s Taking What” Connecting Neuroscience, Psychopharmacology and Internal Family Systems for Trauma in Internal Family Systems Therapy- New Dimensions. He co-authored a chapter on “What IFS Brings to Trauma Treatment in Innovations and Elaborations in Internal Family Systems Therapy" and recently coauthored the Internal Family Systems Skills Training Manual.

Linda Curran - BCPC, LPC, CACD, CCDPD, EMDR-C

Linda Curran, BCPC, LPC, CACD, CCDPD, EMDR-C is president of Integrative Trauma Treatment, LLC, in Havertown, PA. She provides clients an integrative approach to trauma, and treats PTSD in adolescent and adult populations, including clients with eating disorders, sexual trauma, and self-injury. An international speaker on the treatment of trauma, Linda has developed, produced, and presents multi-media workshops on all aspects of psychological trauma.

Linda is the author of best selling Trauma Competency: A Clinician’s Guide (PPM, 2010) and her newest book 101 Trauma-Informed Interventions (PPM, 2013). She is the producer of the best-selling Interview Trauma series DVD’s in which she collaborated with the world’s leaders in Trauma: Bessel van der Kolk, MD; Peter Levine, PhD; Babette Rothschild, MSW, LCS; Stephen Porges, PhD; Janina Fisher, PhD; and many more.

Janina Fisher - PhD

Janina Fisher, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and instructor at the Trauma Center, founded by Bessel van der Kolk, MD. A faculty member of the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, an EMDR International Association consultant, past president of the New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation, and former instructor, Harvard Medical School, Dr. Fisher lectures nationally and internationally on the integration of the neurobiological research and new trauma treatment paradigms into traditional psychotherapies.
