Training Requirements:

A minimum of 42 hours of CPD, including 18 hours specific to trauma, 18 hours specific to EMDR, and 6 clinical practice hours.

Please note that Evergreen Certifications does not offer CPD, all training must be purchased directly through the accredited training organization. Training is not included in the certification fee.

Consultation:

The applicant must participate in a minimum of 10 hours of EMDR-focused case review consultation sessions, with an Evergreen Certifications Approved Consultant*. The consultation sessions must be completed within 1 year of completion of education hours.

The applicant must have an Evergreen Certifications Approved Consultant* review at least 1 EMDR client session either by video submission to the consultant or by having the consultant present for live observation of the client session.

Please note that after you complete the education hours, you should begin using EMDR to discuss in consultation.

*If you are working with an EMDR consultant that is not listed as an Evergreen Certifications Approved Consultant, please have the consultant send a copy of their professional license and CV for Evergreen to review for approval to info@evergreencertifications.com

Application Process:

For your initial 2-year certification, please complete the following steps.

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Complete required reading
  3. Complete clinical consultation
  4. Remit your initial application payment of 349.99 USD online
  5. Upload the following documents to your account:

Evergreen Certifications will certify applicants who meet the above requirements.

Please note: Certification does not imply endorsement of clinical competency. As a registered/credentialed professional, you are responsible for reviewing the scope of practice, including activities that are defined in law as beyond the boundaries of practice in accordance with and in compliance with your profession’s standards.

Renewal Process:

To maintain EMDR-C certification, a renewal is required after your initial 2-year certification. A 2-year renewal requires 12 clock hours of EMDR focused CPD.

Renewal Process

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Upload the following documents to your account:
    • A copy of the candidate’s professional license
    • Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a completion certificate
  3. Remit your EMDR-C renewal fee of 149.99 USD online

Renewal training hours need to have been taken in the time since you were certified or last recertified.

Renewals are calculated from the date that your certification was issued. If you allow your certification to lapse for more than 2 years, you are no longer eligible to renew your certification and instead can reapply for certification.

Linda Curran - BCPC, LPC, CACD, CCDPD, EMDR-C

Linda Curran, BCPC, LPC, CACD, CCDPD, EMDR-C is president of Integrative Trauma Treatment, LLC, in Havertown, PA. She provides clients an integrative approach to trauma, and treats PTSD in adolescent and adult populations, including clients with eating disorders, sexual trauma, and self-injury. Arielle Schwartz - PhD, CCTP-II, E-RYT, EMDR-C

Arielle Schwartz, PhD, CCTP-II, E-RYT, EMDR-C is a clinical psychologist, internationally sought-out teacher, therapeutic yoga instructor, and leading voice in the healing of PTSD and complex trauma. She is the author of five books based upon her integrative, mind-body approach to trauma recovery: The Complex PTSD Workbook; The Post Traumatic Growth Guidebook; A Practical Guide to Complex PTSD; EMDR Therapy and Somatic Psychology; and The Complex PTSD Treatment Manual. Her unique blend of spirituality and science can be found in her writings, guided trauma recovery programs, and applied Polyvagal Theory in yoga for trauma recovery.
