Who is Eligible:

To be eligible for CBECDP certification, the applicant must be registered/credentialed with the governing bodies listed below and hold a minimum of a master’s degree in their profession.

By applying for certification, the applicant agrees to adhere to Evergreen Certifications’ Professional Code of Ethics

Training Requirements:

A minimum of 24 hours of CPD as outlined in the educational requirement section of the standards.

Wondering if a course meets the requirements for CBECDP certification? Submit a copy of or link to the course title, speaker, outline and learning objectives to info@evergreencertifications.com for review.

Please note that Evergreen Certifications does not offer CPD, all training must be purchased directly through the accredited training organization. Training is not included in the certification fee.

Review Panel Discssion

This panel discusses a necessary paradigm shift related to diet culture, common hurdles and challenges faced by providers and how to address them. Applicants must watch this panel discussion which will be provided upon applying for the certification.

Application Process:

For your initial 2-year certification, please complete the following steps.

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Review panel discussion
  3. Complete required reading
  4. Upload the following documents to your account:
    • A copy of the candidate’s professional registration/credential
    • Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a completion certificate
    • A completed application form, found here
  5. Remit your initial application payment of 199.99 USD online

Evergreen Certifications will certify applicants who meet the above requirements.

Please note: Certification does not imply endorsement of clinical competency. As a registered/credentialed professional, you are responsible for reviewing the scope of practice, including activities that are defined in law as beyond the boundaries of practice in accordance with and in compliance with your profession’s standards.

Renewal Process:

To maintain CBECDP certification, a renewal is required after your initial 2-year certification. A 2-year renewal requires 12 hours of CPD.

  • Renewal requires six hours related to one or more of the below topics
    • Emotional eating
    • Binge eating
    • Body image
    • Effective treatment modalities for the areas above
  • Six remained hours must be related to binge eating and or chronic dieting in relation to trauma that does not harm

Renewal Process

  1. Complete a qualifying training
  2. Remit your recertification application fee
  3. Upload the following documents to your account:

    • A copy of the candidate’s professional registration/credential
    • Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a completion certificate

Renewal CPD content cannot be the same content used for prior renewal or initial certification

Renewals are calculated from the date that your certification was issued. If you allow your certification to lapse for more than 2 years, you are no longer eligible to renew your certification and instead can reapply for certification
