Training Requirements:
A minimum of 12 CPD hours of training in specific addictions assessment and treatment topics.

Please note that Evergreen Certifications does not offer continuing CPD, all training must be purchased directly through the accredited training organization. Training is not included in the certification fee.
Complete Clinical Hours:
The candidate must attest that, over the course of their career, they have completed a minimum of 100 contact hours with clients who have substance use disorder as co-occurring factor presented during mental health treatment.
Application Process:
For your initial 1-year certification, please complete the following steps.
- Complete a qualifying training
- Remit your initial application payment of 99.99 USD online
- Upload the following documents to your account:
- A copy of the candidate’s professional registration, credential, or membership
- Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a CPD or completion certificate
- A completed CAIMHP application form
Evergreen Certifications will certify applicants who meet the above requirements.
Please note: Certification does not imply endorsement of clinical competency. As a registered/credentialed professional, you are responsible for reviewing the scope of practice, including activities that are defined in law as beyond the boundaries of practice in accordance with and in compliance with your profession’s standards.
Renewal Process:
To maintain CAIMHP certification, a renewal is required. After your initial 1-year certification, you have the option to renew for 1, 2 or 3 years. A 1-year renewal requires 6 CPD hours of assessment and treatment of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, suicide/self-injury, and/or psychological trauma training since you were last certified; a 2-year renewal requires 12 CPD hours, and a 3-year renewal requires 18 hours.

- The Neurophysiology of Addiction & Brain Based Relapse Prevention by PESI
- Treatment of Sexual Addiction (TSA) by ITTI
Renewal CPD content cannot be the same content used for prior renewal or initial certification

- Remit your CAIMHP renewal fee online
- $49.99 for a 1-year renewal
- $79.99 for a 2-year renewal
- $99.99 for a 3-year renewal
Renewal training hours need to have been taken in the time since you were certified or last recertified.
Renewals are calculated from the date that your certification was issued. If you allow your certification to lapse for more than 3 years, you are no longer eligible to renew your certification and instead can reapply for certification

Paul Brasler, MA, MSW, LCSW, has worked in the social work field for the past 22 years. His work experience includes adolescent residential treatment, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment, experiential group process, being a mental health provider on a hostage negotiation team, drug court senior clinician, private practice with individuals and families, and crisis interventions. For the past seven years, Paul has worked in five emergency departments in the greater Richmond, Virginia area conducting psychiatric assessments of patients in crisis. Paul helps the most vulnerable population in his community, and he enjoys the intersection of mental health, substance abuse and medicine.
Linda Curran - BCPC, LPC, CACD, CCDPD, EMDR-C
Linda Curran, BCPC, LPC, CACD, CCDPD, EMDR-C is president of Integrative Trauma Treatment, LLC, in Havertown, PA. She provides clients an integrative approach to trauma, and treats PTSD in adolescent and adult populations, including clients with eating disorders, sexual trauma, and self-injury. An international speaker on the treatment of trauma, Linda has developed, produced, and presents multi-media workshops on all aspects of psychological trauma.
Linda is the author of best selling Trauma Competency: A Clinician’s Guide (PPM, 2010) and her newest book 101 Trauma-Informed Interventions (PPM, 2013).
