• Complete a minimum of 18 CE hours in trauma – both simple and complex, including hours specific to:
  • Assessment and diagnosis of trauma disorders
  • Neuroscience basics
  • Neurobiology of trauma, healing trauma, PTSD and dissociation
  • Working with trauma disorders (Complex PTSD, Acute Stress Disorder, Preverbal and Attachment Trauma, Developmental Trauma Disorder, Transgenerational, Systemic, Intersectionality and Global Trauma)
  • Awareness of hyper-arousal and hypo-arousal states
  • The function of trauma symptoms and memories
  • Resilience, empathy, compassion, forgiveness and post-traumatic growth
  • Dissociation and working with parts of self
  • Adaptations to complex trauma and managing co-morbidities
  • Awareness of Psychopharmacology and nonpharmacological interventions
  • Therapist considerations (Therapist’s Parts, boundaries, vicarious trauma)
• Complete a minimum of 18 CE hours in IFS, including hours specific to:
  • The theoretical model of IFS and the concept of parts, Self and Self-Energy
  • IFS-Informed clinical assessment and mapping of parts
  • Types of Protectors
  • Wounds, vulnerability and shame (the exiles)
  • 6 Fs and their stages
  • Working with parts (Wounded Parts, Polarities/Polarization, Gaining Permission, Direct Access, Unblending, Updating, Repairing the Relationship)
  • The Steps of Healing
  • Different types of Unburdening and the Unburdening Process
  • Post Unburdening Process – What happens after healing
  • Integrating other models of treatment with IFS
  • Therapist’s Parts-What to do when your parts are activated
  • Clinical applications beyond trauma
• Complete a minimum of 12 practice hours of clinical application of the IFS model with an Evergreen Certifications Approved IFSTC Consultant.
  • Four hours of practice must be with healing wounds

Suitable education sources are approved continued education courses as documented by certificates of completion from the accredited training organization

Evergreen Certifications will accept courses that have been completed within 2 years of initial application for certification

To become IFSTC certified, you must complete all requirements outlined in the certification standards. If you have taken a training not listed as a pre-approved training, please send the course title, outline, learning objectives, and speaker information to info@evergreencertifications.com for review.

To get the most out of the consultation experience, it is recommended (though not required) to work with one consultant as that consultant will be better able to get to know your clinical skills and you will get the most out of the consultation process.

When your certification application is approved, you may use the credential “IFSTC”.

Your digital badge is automatically in your online account when your certification is active.

Once your application is approved, your certification is granted for two years. To maintain certification, a renewal is required every two years.

To maintain your IFSTC certification, you need to renew your certification every two years. Renewal requires taking a minimum of 12 hours of IFS focused CPD, submitting your completion certificate(s), a copy of your professional license, and the renewal fee to Evergreen Certifications. Re-certification training hours need to have been taken in the time since you were initially certified or last renewed. Renewals are calculated from the date that your certification was issued.
