Who is Eligible:
To be eligible for certification, the applicant must be registered/credentialed with the governing bodies listed below and hold a minimum of a master’s degree in their profession.
Provisional, qualified or student registration does not meet the standards for C-PD certification.

Training Requirements:
A minimum of 18 hours of CPD in specific personality disorder diagnosis, screening, assessment and treatment intervention topics.

Please note that Evergreen Certifications does not offer CPD, all training must be purchased directly through the accredited training organization. Training is not included in the certification fee.
Complete Clinical Hours
The applicant must attest that over the course of their career, they have conducted a minimum of 100 hours of therapeutic contact with an individual with personality disorder traits and/or diagnosis
Application Process:
For your initial 1-year certification, please complete the following steps.
- Complete a qualifying training
- Remit your initial application payment of 99.99 USD online
- Upload the following documents to your account:
- A copy of the candidate’s professional registration
- Evidence of completion of qualifying training, in the form of a completion certificate
- A completed C-PD application form
Evergreen Certifications will certify applicants who meet the above requirements.
Please note: Certification does not imply endorsement of clinical competency. As a registered/credentialed professional, you are responsible for reviewing the scope of practice, including activities that are defined in law as beyond the boundaries of practice in accordance with and in compliance with your profession’s standards.
Renewal Process:
To maintain C-PD certification, a renewal is required. After your initial 1-year certification, you have the option to renew for 1, 2 or 3 years. A 1-year renewal requires 6 clock hours of personality disorder-focused training since you were initially certified or last renewed; a 2-year renewal requires 12 clock hours, and a 3-year renewal requires 18 hours.

- Remit your C-PD renewal fee online
- $49.99 for a 1-year renewal
- $79.99 for a 2-year renewal
- $99.99 for a 3-year renewal
Renewal training hours need to have been taken in the time since you were certified or last recertified.
Renewals are calculated from the date that your certification was issued. If you allow your certification to lapse for more than 3 years, you are no longer eligible to renew your certification and instead can reapply for certification
Daniel J. Fox - PhD
Daniel J. Fox, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in Texas, international speaker, and multiple-award winning author. He has been specializing in the treatment and assessment of individuals with personality disorders for over 15 years in the state and federal prison system, universities, and in private practice. His specialty areas include personality disorders, ethics, burnout prevention, and emotional intelligence. He has published several articles in these areas and is the author of The Clinician’s Guide to Diagnosis and Treatment of Personality Disorders, the award winning Antisocial, Borderline, Narcissistic and Histrionic Workbook: Treatment Strategies for Cluster B Personality Disorders, award winning Narcissistic Personality Disorder Toolbox, and The Borderline Personality Disorder Workbook.
Dr. Fox has been teaching and supervising students for over 15 years at various universities across the United States, some of which include West Virginia University, Texas A&M University, University of Houston, Sam Houston State University, and Florida State University. He is currently a staff psychologist in the federal prison system, Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Houston, as well as maintaining a private practice that specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex psychopathology and personality disorders. Dr. Fox has given numerous workshops and seminars on ethics and personality disorders, personality disorders and crime, treatment solutions for treating clients along the antisocial, borderline, narcissistic, and histrionic personality spectrum, emotional intelligence, managing mental health within the prison system, and others. George Simon - PhD
George Simon, PhD, has specialized in disturbances of personality and character for over 30 years. He is widely regarded as one of the foremost authorities on manipulative personalities and other problem characters. Dr. Simon received his PhD in clinical psychology from Texas Tech University, and, until just a few years ago, he maintained an active private practice, during which he served both individuals with serious character disturbances and their relationship partners.
He has also served as the supervising psychologist for the Arkansas Sex Offender Risk Assessment program, as well as in their only inpatient treatment program for offenders. His books, In Sheep’s Clothing, Character Disturbance - The Phenomenon of our Age, and The Judas Syndrome, are all bestsellers. Dr. Simon has appeared on CNN and the Fox News Network, and he has conducted over 200 instructional seminars and workshops nationwide. He is a full clinical member of ATSA and a Diplomate of the American College of Forensic Examiners.
