Ari Badaines, PhD


Dr. Ari Badaines, PhD trained as a clinical psychologist in the USA and received a postdoctoral National Institute of Mental Health fellowship in Washington, DC where he trained in psychodrama and group therapy. Ari has been a consultant to numerous organisations including Relate in the UK, Richmond Fellowship and Youth-in-Search in Australia. He has taught at various universities in the USA, UK, and Australia including ACU and ACAP in Sydney and has also led workshops in over thirty countries.  Ari has been a presenter for the Australian Psychological Society, Psychological Society of Ireland, British Psychological Society, and the British Psychodrama  Association as well as Gestalt Australia New Zealand.  

Ari has been in private practice for over 45 years. His initial  training was psychodynamic psychotherapy, and he has had many years of supervised, clinical practice.  Ari has over the years completed training in a variety of therapeutic systems as well as Family and Couple Therapy at the Institute of Family Therapy, London; Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy with Sue Johnson; Polyvagal Theory with Deb Dana, and most recently, Sex and Couple Therapy with Tammy Nelson. He currently maintains a private practice in Sydney, consults with a variety of organisations and provides supervision to psychologists and other mental health professionals. He is a popular presenter for PESI, and continues to run training sessions in the UK and Europe twice a year.
